Adventure Anywhere: Portable Activities for Connection and Team Building

This is our transportable foundational workshop for individuals who are new to adventure programming and do not need the skills or introduction to low and high elements; it is our Adventure Programming workshop without the challenge course. This is an introductory option to build your knowledge of games, activities, and initiatives for those just starting to explore adventure and for those looking to expand their activity tool-box.
Participants will:
Experience how adventure programming can be done using portable games, initiatives, and specialty equipment instead of the challenge course.
Learn how Project Adventure’s cornerstones of Challenge By Choice, Full Value Contract, and Experiential Learning cycle are key foundations of an effective adventure program.
Experience the power of adventure education as an effective tool for teaching social and emotional learning skills and promoting change in individuals and groups throughout various educational settings.
Be introduced to basic facilitation skills such as sequencing, framing, and debriefing techniques for a variety of activity types.

July 8-10 2025
Workshop Information:
$550 – Includes registration, workshop manual and lunch during workshop.
Number of days: 3
Workshop hours: 8:30am-5:00pm

Graduate credits: Participants can earn 2 credits for taking the workshop and completing a Reflection Paper. Additional 2 credits can be earned by also completing a Guided Project. More graduate credit information can be found HERE. Additional per credit fee applies. This workshop is listed as Portable Adventure in PSU’s course catalog so that is the name that should be entered on the PSU registration form and what will appear on your transcript.
Participants who are licensed teachers in MA can earn 24 PDPs after completing this workshop and submitting a Reflection Paper for additional fee. Email registration@pa.org for more information.
Please register more than two weeks in advance to ensure the workshop will have enough participants to run as scheduled.
Workshop registration cancellation policies: Cancellations less than two weeks prior to a workshop start date will result in 50% refund of tuition cost. No shows without cancellation notice will forfeit all tuition cost paid.
Purchase Orders: If your school or organization will be using a Purchase Order, please email registration@pa.org to register. A copy of the Purchase Order will need to be submitted to that same email address to finalize the registration.
