This in-person workshop is for interdisciplinary, K-12 educators who wish to support the social and emotional development of their students better. Participants will be exposed to a wide range of adventure-based, SEL-linked activities while exploring strategies for applying adventure concepts to align and integrate the diverse social and emotional learning initiatives in their school.

In this workshop we will explore the Adventure Mindset and how adopting this perspective creates opportunity to teach content while supporting the whole student. By blending adventure education with Project-Based Learning, Place-Based Learning, and Expeditionary Learning, this course bridges Social Emotional Learning with academic content.

Adventure in the Classroom
This introductory workshop covers activities from the PE curriculum for elementary school teachers and provides practical strategies for aligning adventure activities with learning outcomes and standards. Educators will leave with tools to assess student growth, integrate ACPE into their programs, and create inclusive, engaging environments for all learners.
