Adventure Games for Learning Review
Make review sessions active and memorable with this adventure-based learning workshop! Designed for educators who want to transform review sessions into dynamic learning experiences, this session will introduce a variety of adaptable games that can work across subjects, grade levels, and classroom settings.
Adventure games activate students’ brains in unique ways—creating new neural pathways and reinforcing existing ones. Participants will play and explore versatile games that can be customized to review key concepts in any subject from math, science, language arts, history and more. You'll learn how to modify these activities for your content, and throughout the school year to maintain novelty.
With a focus on reducing test anxiety and boosting student engagement, this workshop provides tools to create a positive environment to support effective review and content retention for the long term. Whether you're prepping for standardized assessments or classroom quizzes, you'll leave with strategies to make learning stick and help students build confidence as they take on a growth mindset and new study strategies.
Learning Outcomes:
Experience adventure games that support academic review and test preparation for the classroom environment.
Learn strategies to adapt games for long-term interest and novelty.
Explore ways to tailor games to different subjects and grade levels.
Discover how to create a supportive environment that reduces test anxiety and boosts engagement by supporting students with current study strategies and principles of Social Emotional Learning.
