Therapeutic Adventure Programming

Recent years have brought significant advances in the field of mental health. Project Adventure’s use of adventure in therapeutic settings reflects and embraces these important changes. Learn how to incorporate adventure-based approaches into your practice.

Here are some key concepts our model for Therapeutic Adventure Programming includes:

  • Trauma-Informed Principles such as safety, trustworthiness, peer support, collaboration, empowerment, and cultural competence

  • PA’s cornerstone philosophies that foster therapeutic outcomes: Challenge by Choice and the Full Value Commitment

  • Neuroscience research that has deepened understanding of the brain and the nervous system as it connects to this adventure-based modality

  • An experiential, strength-based approach to small group work and counseling in a variety of settings.

We invite you to experience this evolution first-hand. Find out how we are successfully using adventure methodology in therapeutic support groups and how you and your organization can too.

Professional development for clinicians, social workers, and mental health professionals.
